ERNESTONE is a high quality stone masonry business with Michael Hoy, master craftsman as its artistic and operational director.
Having studied Art and Design at the University of Ulster in the late 80’s Michael spend 3 years studying masonry, stone carving and letter cutting at the internationally renowned Weymouth College gaining distinctions in all disciplines.
With over 20 years experience in the masonry industry Michael is one of the countries best known stone specialists working both locally and internationally.
His impressive back catalogue of work includes altars, tabernacles and baptismal fonts for churches throughout Ireland.
Michael has acted as senior mason on several award winning building projects in both the USA and the UK.
With increasing demand for his work Michael decided to form Ernestone to specialise in the production of unique hand carved memorials and headstones.
Michael values the use of using traditional masonry methods, locally sourced materials and his dedication to the craft underpins the work at Ernestone.
